3. Path Study
Determine what obstacles may stand in the way and overcome
them.
We provide several simple calculators to assist with estimating
antenna orientation, free space loss, and converting power measurements.
Complex calculations like Fresnel zone, and various methods of measuring over-the-air losses are described in our support
section, and results are provided in our detailed Path Studies.
Complex mathematics
aside, testing a wireless connection is often the only accurate
way to determine how it will behave. To help alleviate
some of the costs of considering a new wireless installation
or lessen the strain of replacing your existing radios, SATEL USA offers
affordable onsite and offsite services to determine a system’s
viability and installation path.
Working from the anticipated
locations, we use topographical map data and established calculations
to determine anticipated signal strengths, Fresnel zone, and
other significant network characteristics.
For a more complete
examination of a proposed system, we can also combine calculated
data with actual measurements taken onsite to deliver a comprehensive
image of the planned system.
